WHAT DO YOU SEE IN THE MIRROR?
Being healthy is an active process. Especially in this day and age, one has
to actively work to preserve and protect one’s health. One must in so over-stimulating,
artificial and dangerous environment recognize there is even more reason to learn how
to take care of oneself.
Therefore one must choose to be healthy. That means that one must feel worthy to live life
in a healthy and cooperative manner, and then pursue it with enthusiasm! One must want
the true best for oneself. Throughout one’s day (which strung together become one’s life)
there are innumerable choices to be made. How you ongoingly decide will to a great extent
determine the degree of your health and your sense of well-being.
One gains the most sense of well-being by taking responsibility for oneself and learning by
one’s actions. This is further developed by recognizing how valuable to others one really is,
through one’s service and living their life. A farmer. A teacher. A policeman. A doctor. A builder.
An artist. All have value and are needed. Thus we serve ourselves best when we
serve others. We must all become, in a sense caretakers—even of ourselves. Each
of our own unique individualities influence and shape our styles and approaches
of expression--All different.
Your true actions rather than your words or thoughts tend to shape your sense of yourself.
Yet generally thought precedes action. Many thoughts appear, yet few get converted into action.
Quality actions reinforced by good feelings contribute directly towards our health and
well-being.
SO WHAT IS HEALTH ANYWAY?
Health is defined as, “a state of complete physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and
social well-being. It is a state whereby the life-processes proceed with optimal functioning and
harmony.”
It is more than merely the absence of disease. It has much to do with the quality of your life.
You need quality in your life to truly thrive. Health has to do with being at peace with yourself.
It has much to do with feeling good about yourself and your life. Numerous scientific studies have
clearly demonstrated how one’s thoughts, feelings and attitudes can significantly affect one’s health
and resistance to illness.
A good life is only one attitude away! Therefore it is so essential to program the life-affirming
into your life. The truth is health has to start with you. Others can help guide you but cannot bring
health by themselves. You need to do what is necessary to adjust the set of circumstances
which contribute to your becoming less than truly healthy. And many of the circumstances are
a result of beliefs that you have held which contributed to the actions (or inactions) taken.
Choose an environment in which the life processes can proceed with optimal functioning and
harmony. In yourself. In all around you. You can make it happen. Don’t wait for it.
